Honestly, a glossary with pronunciations would be nice for this book bc I’m pretty sure I have no clue how to pronounce most of these names & words used within the world Veronica Roth built

The writing feels childish, especially for dystopian Sci fi standards

I’m not expecting the most amazing piece of literature but I am expecting more than reading “she pretty much decided never to be the Hope of Cedre again” (in reference to her husband dying the same day her mother did)

There’s something off putting about Veronica Roth’s decision to use “pretty much” in a sentence

The writing feels like it’s either overly wordy & doesn’t explain the world building great or it’s very simplistic writing that just seems odd

“She hears the man-Robbie, and any man who chooses the name "Robbie" for himself is suspect, in her opinion”

I do love the spiel about the sword of cedre roll taken on by the knights as Theren swears his oath

The world building is weird & the sudden shift in which character we’re following caught me off guard. Can we at least get a heads up so I can easily shift between who I’m reading about?

The Fever is a highly infectious disease that kills everyone - where half stay dead and the other half come back to life like it's the resurrection with magical powers received. Got it.

What does it mean to be Fevered?

4 pages in and I already feel lost. Why is Elegy's mother referred to as the Sword? Who is Shir? Who(or what) is the Cenobium
