It is a very fun and interesting yet insightful, introspective perspective of a young adult navigating her way though high school.

Genuinely very captivating and thought provoking. The book seemed disguised as a modern tale but the characters have strange names. But instead, it is a retelling of ancient stories in a tasteful manner.

I’m very excited to be studying this piece of literature for my theatre class.

Almost done! I’m surprised that more romance between belly and Conrad hasn’t occurred, super different to the show.

So good! I love the character development, how intimate chapters are, they’re getting longer, I like how they accurately capture moments, long ones are in long chapters and short ones for short chapters. I feel like I both know Conrad well and not at all. As the book goes on I become increasingly attached to Jeremiah, their dynamic is starting to make more sense though. And the show is so different from the book.

So far the reason as to why they have such a presumably strong hatred for each other seems superficial. Their willingness to apologise to one another and suddenly look past years of loathing for each other also seems unrealistic. It seems like they forcibly mature and grow purely for plot convenience.

But it’s super fun to read, super funny and I like that each chapter is a new perspective.

I really like the book so far. It follows a relatable, shy, teen girl who battles with feeling left out and wanting to fit in. Themes of teen angst are very prominent and yet not overbearing and encourages sympathy. It also has heartwarmingly cute moments that make your heart race alongside the protagonist. It’s a well constructed book with short and interesting chapters and I plan on reading this entire series.m
