I know this book is really loved by people but I'm having an extremely hard time with the child abuse in this book. I'm at 18% of the audiobook and I'm going to DNF.

Definitely check the trigger warnings before reading.

Ummm.. I was intrigued for a while and then it's almost like a totally different book.

First part is dystopian and the second part is more a nursing rhyme type fantasy. Part of me wants to DNF because I'm not a fan of the current direction.
I'm going to try to stick it out...

Meh... this is way too similar to her Beach Read book. If you were from another planet and only read Emily Henry, you would think that everyone has a book related job, no other jobs exist.
Plus the "we must get the story out of the famous old person" trope is so cliqué. But I can't DNF because I have Emily Henry Book FOMO. Ridiculous yes, but I've read all her other books, & no one likes a quitter.
