so impressed w how well this book manages to be both such sharp criticism but also so empathetic and kind to fans… legitimately really excellent stuff

the problem with a book like this is that some of the stories (the maccabees, vibia perpetua, the marian martyrs) are just a lot more interesting to me than others (becket, more)

people whose opinions i trust have recommended me this book and it should be a book i like but it's taking me so long to read.....
