Amazing to see the contrast of being an object & a subject of desire while going through cancer that alienates you from your body (or being at the center of life and death simultaneously). I was excited to see how situations and emotions could be experienced by different people in such a situation, starting with the same photograph. However, the narratives of Ernaux and Marie felt quite repetitive and flat.
