Epic. Like Eisenhorn but with smaller stakes.

A fast read in a good way. A way that makes the reader eager to find out how it will transpire. Characters are well written with those that are of the main cast. And the escapade across Europe is fascinating.

Complete fun. It reads a bit like a soap opera at times, with higher stakes but in a positive sort of way without a sense of complete dread and hopelessness. Although the ending, reading more like a deus ex machina was nevertheless welcome since I was happy for a happy ending after seeing the characters progress through the hardships and unwinding the mystery.

Epic journey can't really describe it.

The twists and turns and overall attempt to strive for knowledge is what drives this sad epic. Loved it the whole through.

And the ending, just reflecting on the whole voyage, leaves a bitter yet hopeful taste.

A bit of a difficult read compared to Dean Koontz other works. But overall will always be a fan.
