My question is, why is Theo continuing to act as a detective? Talking to her gallerist, Jean-Felix, was fine. But questioning the neighbor, trying to piece together what happened the night of the murder? Side-eye. Feels like he has a personal stake in this.

Tom's playing detective again.

When talking about Alcestis, I finally was able to connect the dots between the play and Alicia's vow of silence. Very interesting. Her husband was murdered, but she betrayed. Based on the context of the play, looks like a similar situation ensued. Her husband chose his own life over hers.
Last chapter with Theo doing something he shouldn't. I have to raise my eyebrow.

Sounds like Jean-Felix doesn't like Gabriel. And the other way around too. Seems like Alicia puts Gabriel on a pedestal.

Also, interesting to bring up the play Alcestis. Feels on the nose. Rather, I prefer the subtlety interwoven from the first chapter. The deep reader knows the connection (or atleast I did since I looked up the play and can tell it was heading to a tragedy).

As I said earlier, he should've left his wife. Paranoia is starting to creep in. Checking her phone and hoping she'll leave her email open? Come on.

I found chapter 15 rather interesting. Theo's interpretation is that most choices or consequences in the present lie in the past.

While I think Theo's work is commendable, I agree with Diomedes that Theo is working like a detective rather than a psychologist.
Interviewing Max Berenson, taking a train to Cambridge to see Alicia's childhood home? A tad excessive.

Reading through Alicia's diary entry, right after Theo's interview with Max, it's interesting to understand the psychology of Max and his hatred for his brother. It's interesting how people can twist the truth after someone dies. One thing that struck me is how Alicia's diary entries read like a story. How can diary entries have entire dialogues? If I were to keep a journal, I wouldn't be writing entire scenes.

Felt bad for Theo after reading what he has been through with Kathy. Still believe he should've taken Ruth's advice. [spoiler below]
If someone were to hurt you, such as Kathy, why choose to continue on in a relationship that you know will only destroy you in the end? It's sad to see him push it under the rug, continue to live in the facade of a happy marriage when he knew his wife "never loved him."
