oh naur the audiobook and the writing is giving me a massive ick. like it’s v reminiscent of those YA books that start off with a making of a bet. even as a joke, i don’t find it funny or cute. like i just read a book where the male love interest has set my standards so high and i read this, and our love interest here is basically telling his friends to stop making a bet on who can take this woman home 😪

every third day i come on here and someone i’m friends with us reading sarah j maas. STILL??? will you lot ever let that mediocre can-barely-string-a-sentence-together-let-alone-a-fantasy-book Zionists alone??

every single character in this book is a piece of shit you cannot convince me otherwise

god almighty i wanted to read this for a good time but every five seconds im being bombarded with brand names and pop culture references. i mean who willingly includes better help as a brand in their book??? BETTER HELP?? more like you need help

whoever said this book was good by the way, i hope you know your crimes will not go unpaid. i am only still reading bc i feel like i’ve struggled and sacrificed too much at this point to stop

thoughts:
- i hope megara dies/is threatened to see reason.
- cor similarly needs to change but im not holding my breath he’s been a shitty friend and ally for a hot minute. also what his family went through, while terrible, is literally nothing compared to what annie and lee survived. no offence and no trauma olympics but he needs to see reason and fast
- lee needs to apologise to annie and vice versa

this is kinda reminding me of strange the dreamer… hopefully i like this a lot more 😭

it’s cute when men are pathetic in romance novels. what’s not cute is men being men and basically misconstruing information and, instead of talking it out like a fucking adult (he’s literally thirty two), using it as ammunition to hurt their love interest. when are y’all going to get it??? this has never been cute and never will be

god i hate the cover but my curiosity and liking for the amnesia plot line is overriding my absolute dislike for it

yeah no this book is so unbelievably boring and the main character annoys me and the plot is basically nonexistent, i can’t anymore

oh no. i was really loving this. i even was preparing to give it five stars but this last 30% or so is undoing all the things i thought we were going to get and the direction it was taking us in
