Difficult to make it through the first few chapters, just due to the fact that I can’t seem to appreciate the author’s perspective on certain priorities in life… but the writing/storytelling is good quality.

Though death is certainly an unavoidable fate for all of these characters, the nature of one woman’s death was so unexpected I actually thought I was reading a different book for a second.

Enjoyable and thought-provoking so far, some outdated beliefs but that’s to be expected. Lots of interesting snippets of philosophy from a ancient mind of high status, a stellar private education, and probably a lot of time on his hands…
