AW THIS BOOK IS SO CUTE AND TOUCHING. for my first graphic novel read this was perfect the artwork is so pretty, the friendships, and story is so good. i loved it i think it’s 4.5 stars but i might change it and make it higher later

dang middle school kids are harsh there

of course it ended on a cliffhanger so not sure if I’m gonna read the second or not I really liked the end though I didn’t see somethings coming and saw others coming. this book is rated 14+ and I don’t know if it’s entirely true because there are some instances of naivety but then some intense gory bits idk if I made them more gory in my head because I wanted that but oh well

ok woah this book got a lot better in the ending half. like Emory said in the book kinda crazy it took that person almost dying for her to realize her worth and her unhealthy desire to use her power to assess her worth. crazy. this book is either 3.5 stars or 4 stars I haven’t decided and might change it later. I swear if anything happened to Kai I would not read the next book also

I was about to get mildly annoyed at Emory because she was being a bit hypocritical but when the body/figure emerged woah that’s actually insane. “the awkward pauses and long silences he always felt the need to fill” ME

pt.2 everyone is selfish as fuck but especially emory they expect eclipse to hold it in but when they get the chance for these powers they expect the exact opposite. “If only to keep him looking at her the way he did now” ew.

pt.1 crazy her saying she’s embarrassed by baz and ignoring him after middle school and also keiran saying it’s easier if no one knows about her powers for protection buts it’s actually just because it’s easier to manipulate her that way

in the beginning of wash part it shows us what I’m guessing is a page from the book song of the drowned gods showing the origin of each person and their call to the mission. is it also supposed to be a signify the characters of the book as well like the warrior=emory?

the biggest thought bubbles I’ve had so far:
what if instead of all drowning they actually travelled to another realm and that’s why when travers body washed up it wasn’t dead but preserved and when that happened he was pulled out too early or something happened in the other realm causing him to die and this is why they can’t locate their spirits the other realm could also just be a metaphor for death
