Well written description of 17th century American colonies. Interesting well drawn characters.

So far decent writing. The fictional elements feel a bit heavy. Not sure why but I am less enthused than I thought. Perhaps there are currently too many new characters floating around

Interesting. I am not used to historical fiction focused on one event. The book reads like a PhD thesis, well sources and cited. It was a bit rough at the beginning but once you adapt to the style it flows smoothly.
