I might DNF at this point because I actually can’t take it anymore. The main characters are beyond flat and it’s just boring, sorry. Neither of them have any distinctive personality traits besides being a single mom and a scientist. To call this enemies-to-lovers would be a disservice to the trope, as Jess has been thirsting over River from chapter 1. This is simply not a romance, rather a thirst fest.
