Rose is starting The Island of Last Things
I am not reading this book and have no idea how or why it’s listed as currently reading. I can’t seem to delete it from the list, either. Sigh.

Rose is starting The Demon of Unrest: A Saga of Hubris, Heartbreak, and Heroism at the Dawn of the Civil War
I’m about 150 pages from the end. This is very interesting and well-written, but it’s a slower read for me than my usual fiction choices.

Rose is on page 92 of 400 of The Sisterhood: The Secret History of Women at the CIA
This is interesting but not compelling reading. I’m finding it pleasant enough but easy to put down. I’ll continue with it until my book group discussion but not sure that I’ll actually read it to the end.

I’m about 250 pages into this and enjoying it! Hoping the various storylines begin to come together soon. It is, indeed, a sweeping tale of early 20th century India .

Although it took me awhile to get comfortable once again with the writing style of Dickens' time, I am now thoroughly enjoying this re-read. It's been probably 40 years or more since I've read this classic, and I'm finding it remarkably contemporary in its social commentary and subtly humorous, as well.

I am learning a lot about systemic housing issues for the low-income residents of the richest nation in the world. And I am sad.

I’m really enjoying this book! Sort of a historical “West Wing.” Just finished the first full chapter and am ready to transition from the Roosevelts to the Trumans.

Now the Trumans and Eisenhowers have exited the White House, and I'm about to meet JFK and Jackie. However, I am pausing this book in order to read my February book club book. Looking forward to resuming my visits with the First Ladies soon!

This is a pleasant read, but a little predictable so far. I'm hoping for some surprises now that the trajectory is set.

Informative but so cautionary it would be hard for me to decide about treatment if I weren’t already on a treatment path. Good review of the disease and self-help options so far, though. A thorough refresher course for osteoporosis sufferers.

So happy to be back with this book after having had to return my library copy. Finally purchased my own copy and am truly enjoying being in Michelle Obama’s company again. Reading this book feels like I’m sitting down with a good friend and catching up on her life.

Enjoying it so far. Some beautiful prose, and I’m now used to the dialect so reading is going more quickly than during the first 30-40 pages.

More interesting than I had anticipated. Very detailed. The author is quite the researcher!

Grant's on his way to Vicksburg. I'm about a quarter of the way through the book.

Quite enlightening and easy to read as long as I don’t expect to understand all the financial machinations described in the book.
