I've never been more excited about overused tropes than I am in this book, purely because of Caroline's enthusiasm and Rosamund's lack thereof

The last 30 pages made me terrifeid for Hickory like five times, and then it ended LIKE THAT? MY POOR GUY BETTER BE OKAY

Like five near-death experiences within the first half day in the Dryad Woodlands, THIS IS GONNA BE A FUN WEEK

That trial was a DOOZY! But YAAAAAY we're teaming up with Hickory to do some stuff now!

I already frickin LOVE Hickory, Alys and Vale (Vale maybe not as much, on account of the bitchiness, but Quinn's deal with the queen sounds promising for Vale character development >:D)

The writer inside me is going wild over the perfect pace at which the world building is being delivered

The characters, the world building, Quinn's internal conflict, EVERYTHING IS JUST SO GOOD SO FAR OH MY GOD

HOW HAVE I GASPED THREE TIMES ALREADY AND I'VE ONLY READ THE PROLOGUE

Proud of Pony and Johnny for not being dickheads at the drive-in movie (and they were awarded with worldview-challenging conversations with girls!)
