I take back my previous criticism of this book. This is a very well researched and comprehensive reflection on Vietnam's history, society and revolutionary struggle for independence. An insightful and important book.

A bit dry.

I am only half way through, but so far this is the most awe inspiring account of a real life hero, Paul Farmer. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. There are literally no words great enough to define the extent of my admiration for this man.

A must read for history buffs.

The writing is so poetic and profound. Lyrical and haunting.

This is an intense and important work. I believe it should be required reading in schools. This is a clear analysis of political polarisation and the presence of an anti semitic resurgance within a fractured political climate. To be continued.

I am putting this one aside for now. Too depressing.
