This was in Hoes for Prose’s top 2024 audiobooks, so am expecting good things!

The author dedicated her book only to the men in her life, but Talia recommended it to me - let’s go girls

Reading this so I have an excuse to see Maddy and return her book I borrowed last book club 🫢🫣

Consuming this as an audiobook - narrator is good!

Tried listening to Blue Sisters but the narrator was like a breathy female Christopher Walken

The book is split into two - I’ve just finished the first retelling of Kurangaituku’s story from a “dark” point of view. It traverses a lot of worlds and other myths/legends, so a lot of crossover episodes.

Having a brief flick through the “light” side I think it’s going to be a bit more of what I remember of Hatupatu and the Birdwoman.

Going to put it down for a bit and come back to it!

My latest audiobook on the drive to Ashburton. Main character is a bit of a pick me but she’s growing on me and is funny at least

Syd would sometimes tune in to I’m Glad My Mom Died when I was listening to it. Thought we could do the same with this book when having dinner one night. Not a good idea lol.

It’s exactly what you’d expect a book written by Dolly Parton to be.
Syd picked this book out for me as part of my Christmas advent calendar, I 🫶 Dolly.

This book feels American. It’s ok for the most part, a very easy read until some real cringe lines come out, like “We kiss, and then Henry starts licking my face like a mama cat.”

The bookseller at the end of the world (see my read folder) recommended this to someone in her bookshop, and Miranda had a copy.
Hoping it lives up to its “hilarious” and “enthralling” reviews!
