I love how Holly Jackson always writes such developed main lead guys; The guy in this book isn’t describe as conventionally attractive, he has a cartoonish fashion sense, and he isn’t a focal point of the book. But still, she makes it so they have a deep understanding of one another below the surface and I think that that is more beautiful and interesting to read. Same with Ravi in AGGTM. Love how she fits it in.

Maybe their abilities have something to do with their eyes. It’s ALWAYS describing people’s eyes.

Something that just occurred to me; what if she doesn’t hurt people she has romantic feelings for?

I covered my mouth, unpredictably predictable. Hanna and Theo? That’s Vile.

Contrary to my previous prediction, I did actually think about who else in the story had red hair, because I remembered someone did. Noelle. Noelle, that makes so much sense, but I don’t think she’s actually her mom, she could just be the person who dropped Poppy off. I think her mom is Ellie and maybe Noelle dated Floyd (much more likely age wise ) and dropped Ellie’s child off making Floyd think it’s his.

Ellie could have changed her appearance; the red hair.

The family is going to be shocked with Poppy’s resemblance to Ellie.

I find it peculiar that Floyd knew about Ellie and also didn’t want Poppy to see pictures of her. It’s not that it’s unusual or odd that he googled her or even that he tried to not bring her up to Poppy to avoid an uncomfortable situation, but their “meet-cute” felt almost staged. Like he approached her possibly knowing about Ellie already. Not wanting Poppy to draw connections. He’s too.. perfect.

I predict that Ellie is Poppies mother and Floyd possibly had an affair with Ellie. That would make Laurel related to Floyd which I find unlikely. The age difference between Ellie and Floyd is inappropriate as well, however we don’t know how long Ellie lived after leaving home. Could she have been in her twenties when she had Poppy?
