finished short story #2 “when mr.pirzada came to dine” - this one was so good too, such a profound way to articulate the intricacies of diasporic south asians and the impact of partition and war specifically in Bangladesh. learned so much and how similar of an impact the eastern partition had on Bengal much like western partition on Punjab

finished short story #1 “a temporary matter” - wow that was perfect and heartbreaking

girl, so interrupted

OH SHES WITTY! immediately hooked by hilariously indifferent brown father (muslim-hindu/india relationship representation also got me) leading to “the girl whose gonna be okay”’s multicultural interactions post suicide attempt arc like idk what’s happening but im giggling

i wonder how many more times in the last 70 pages is she going to take a knife and stab it so viciously into my heart (i fear a lot)

first chapter done and i’m unwell
