Such a good book. I feel like Jonathan really leaned into the “art” of writing in this book. It’s solid, biblical content, but it’s written beautifully. A couple beautiful quotes from this chapter: “The misery of mankind proves to be the theater of God’s mercy. . . . Sin brought misery into this world. But mercy has been outpacing misery ever since.”

The third book is so unlike the first two. It is a much more captivating read, but I find my myself wondering when Dr. Ransom will reappear and what his place will be in all of the events in book three.

I am glad Out of the Dark Planet is only the first of The Space Trilogy, because I need more of an ending.

I find the science to be a bit puzzling to follow, but I don’t care much because that’s not really the point of the book, so far as I can tell. And truth be told, I like Lewis’ writing more than I like the story. He’s brilliant, and I continue reading with excitement.
