Was gifted a copy by my sweet father because he wants to go see the movie and wants to tandem read it with me

I start my new job tomorrow, so I’m kind of all over the place, reading books here and there, to try and distract myself from my anxiety

It takes chapter 23 out of 28 for any real action to happen, and the pacing is killing me

Okay, I really, really like that Daisy is a siren of sorts, as it opens up the world to other creatures, but I do find it hilarious because it is almost the exact same twist as something that happens in a published Monster High book

It feels like I had to crawl my way through so much filler to finally get to the vampire stuff

A VR sex scene? In my Great Gatsby retelling? I wish it was more unlikely, as in like, not a thing

I started reading the first two chapters of this back when it came out, but couldn’t get into it, so I’m restarting it now to see if it’ll catch me or if I’ll have to dnf it
