This book works for me

it does a really great job of putting me in that 1800s Russian slum. Comments about people renting corners of apartments, prostitution and money lenders so much attention to detail in the fact that everyone is wearing rags contrasting with detail on the very fine linens of the cops and the few rich people

Everything leading up to and immediately after the murder is fantastic now around 140 i feel it may be losing steam but looking forward to where it goes from here
