I have a problem with stories where the plot might be interesting, but none of the characters are likeable. I find them all, especially the main protagonist, a bit passive and boring for now? It feels as if the story happens around them and they don’t participate

I especially don’t see how Rainy was chosen as the main protagonist. He’s just… eh?

Skeptical because it’s one of those undisclosed YA recommendations I sometimes get… Nothing against YA, it’s just not for me anymore. We will see tho?

Oh what happened to this series

Oh come on. How can I not love this book already, as a queer Pole who experienced her first love in Wroclaw? Who grew up in those rigid catholic expectation of Poland?

God I just love when a book is narrated by a person who has that spark in their voice, the spark you can only obtain when you are so deeply fond of something. Somebody.

Here’s the problem I have with the beginning of this part - because Darrow has been captured, and the action moved on, he has to be debriefed. No other way to do it when the book is in the first POV. This constituted a sluggish beginning in comparison to the first two books, and I’ve gotten used to this series’ fast pace.

At the beginning still, but I really hate how straightforward it is so far, there are countless explanations without any subtlety eh…

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Hua Cheng is so obsessive it’s creepy and the romance in this book is just not for therapy goers

I just find the flashbacks in the middle of the story too long and unnecessary tbh the flow of the story is greatly interrupted by such a long portion that refers to things that a reader could have already picked up beforehand

The pacing is phenomenal

So far this reads like a not very good show that Netflix will cancel after one season. Hope it gets better
