Good so far. However, next to me on the plane there is a guy texting someone: “You don’t need to be sorry for anything. It was all my fault and I am happy to get to keep you as a friend.” And he keeps rerading all the texts. That seems a bit more interesting so I am not sure what that says about this book.

So far so good!

I’m thinking of giving up on this book.

It’s slightly improved but still not good.

Part II was a disappointment. The story lacked depth and offered no more insight into Cathy’s thoughts than reading Nelly’s narration. A first-person perspective should provide more than simple recounting with “I said” rather than “She said”.

The story relies heavily on telling rather than showing. Even the parts that add depth feel awkwardly patched together and lack overall cohesion.

Chapter 1 was just amazing; it was a stark opening. However, everything that followed in Part One was underwhelming… I will wait a bit more before I make any harsh judgements.

As amazing as it started…
