Short story en inglés, con una historia típica que conecta a nuestros protagonistas desde la infancia y los mantiene enlazados durante su crecimiento a pesar de las separaciones que conlleva el paso del tiempo.
Con una escritura sencilla y amena, la autora te mantiene enganchada con una mezcla de anticipación predecible de los acontecimientos y un cierto nivel de desconcierto que incita a seguir leyendo.

Easy to read. Good characters with depths and layers that are both, easy to spot and surprising when the story goes on.
A family that seems doom to repeat its history and their parents mistakes.
Very catching and refreshing. And ancient story with a twist and a writing that doesn’t allow you to put the book down. I’ve read it in 3 days.

The end is near. I don’t have a clue who might be the murderer but some of the plot points are easy to see. Have a few suspects which keeps me entertained, but overall it is a book I am enjoying but I will not re-read.

Introduction of the characters and the location very slow. Vicabulary a bit advance for my level. But overall, the mystery has just set and it is starting to grab my attention. I’ll keep reading but for the moment it is not very entertaining for me.

Difficult vocabulary for a non-English speaker.
I’m five chapters in and the presentation of characters and places keeps going so I haven’t found a plot that grabs my attention yet. Still, I’m eager to keep reading, challenging my English knowledge and learning new vocabulary and new things about the English way of living.

The written style of Jane Austen is a bit overwhelming and confused at times with long sentences. Still, I can’t seem to stop reading. The social dynamics, the confidence of Elizabeth even though she doesn’t know every part of a story and her strong will are both the opposite and the same as Mr Darcy and it is the continuous animosity between the two of them that makes the reader keep on.

A lot of details in the descriptions and an omnipresent narrator are keys of the book. I thought it would be harder to read because it is a romantic comedy from the s XIX, but not anymore. I sometimes get lost in the maze of adjectives used to describe people or the complex philosophical dialogues about pride. But I am really enjoying it.

It didn’t take long for the characters to realise they don’t hate each other. It feels like the will they? Won’t they? Subtext of the novel is going to resolve itself in the middle of the book. The sex tension is there but at the same time it feels like the book is already ending.
However, i like the author writting style. It keeps me reading but some descriptions aren’t very easy to follow.

Lovely summer reading. It catches you since the start and keeps you hook if you want a light read.
The dynamics between Lucy and Joshua are not new. Yet, the author has been able to give another live to the old tale of enemies to lovers.

It gets interesting once the affair between Frances (21 yo) and Nick (32 yo) began. The inner thoughts of Frances and the writing gets more fluid and it is easier to read for a non English speaker as myself.
The ending seems both, attainable and misterious. It gives you the feeling that it is going to end soon, however there is always more. And we all know how it should end, but the writer is able to confuse us.

Slow pace. Hard vocabulary. Mature. Don’t know yet wheter I might like it or I will get bored.
