Rick Riordan really did something with the whole “monsters disintegrate but then return after a while whereas the demigods you kill stay dead” dynamic.

Adds a thoughtful layer to what is essentially a book for children. Maybe our enemies are human, too?

Pretty impressive how NONE of these books follow a linear pattern yet somehow our heroes still manage to get from A -> B without a car or being able to drive.

I’m amazed at just how little I remember from reading this series twice in middle school.

Did my adolescent brain actually know how to read and comprehend English?

“Most people are right-handed, so he took the door on the right, as it was more likely to be important.”

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This writing is infuriating. Paolini, you’re not a 16 year old writing Eragon anymore, you’re 30+, dude. C’mon.

Reading this book is not at all an enjoyable experience. Sounds to me like Murtagh is going through first year of med school

All dragons do is “hum appreciatively” apparently

I have thoughts but you can’t tag an update with “spoilers” so I’ll save them.

Hoping this picks up in the last 1/3rd
