finished part 1 and i understand why this book, esp the long beginning is so beloved. its the sentimental feeling of the end of an era. playing dolls with your sister less frequently, until you don't realize it's the last time you'll ever do it.

this book and its characters are so humorous. loved getting to know them and look forward to seeing their journey ahead
