Remember when I said I was putting myself on a book buying ban and finally getting through my tbr? I lied! Now I’m telling the truth and going through my books in the order they’re on my shelves.

I think I’m going to put this one on pause. I really wanted to like this one, but I’m usually a read a book in a day or two kind of girl, and when it takes me four days to not even get half way because it keeps putting me to sleep whenever I try to read it…maybe it’s a sign it’s not for me. Also the casual objectification and sexualisation of women? 🤢

This is so eerie so far!!! But I’m flying through it at almost 2 pages a minute — if it wasn’t 3:30am, I’d definitely be reading this in one sitting

This is me officially putting myself on a book buying ban until I start to get through my physical TBR, starting with this one… I give myself 2 weeks 🫶

The way the backstory is coming together with what is happening in the present is far more dramatic and exciting (and devastating let’s be honest) than the twists in even the best thriller

220 pages in and the main characters have *finally* met 🥲

DNFing this one at 92pages. Everyone is so deeply unlikeable and all of their behaviour is so disgusting and toxic it’s actually upsetting. Everyone is cheating on everyone. Everyone is abusive to women. Lesson learned (again): stop trying to read domestic thrillers.

Realised crime author Harriet from The Traitors is the same crime author of one of the books that’s been sitting on my shelf, so had to start reading this in honour of Harriet being the best faithful this season (and Jessie 🫶 we love a Hull girlie)

Putting off starting my other book to reread this. Have my research proposal due in, in 3 days, so once again hoping reading about intelligent women who have gotten their PhDs will inspire me (this is also me manifesting my research proposal is successful)
