This might have become one of my favourite books…
It is so philosophical, profound and touches upon the essence of being human. “I Who Have Never Known Men” is a masterpiece of the 20th century.

Žmonėms, turintiems mirties baimę, ši knyga galėtų padėti, kaip ir padėjo man. Buvo daug nereikalingo teksto ir istorijų iš psichologo gyvenimo, kurios manes nedomino bei pabaigos rekomendacijos psichologams, kurios man nebuvo aktualios, tačiau jis gerai išdėstė kitų mąstytoju bei filosofų mintis apie mirtį, kurios mane nuramino.

„Lopšys supasi virš bedugnės, ir sveikas protas sako, kad mūsų egzistencija tėra trumpas šviesos blyksnis tarp dviejų amžinų tamsų. Nors jos tapačios, žmogus į bedugnę prieš gimimą paprastai žvelgia ramiau nei į tą, kurios link keliauja (maždaug keturių su puse tūkstančių širdies tvinksniu per valandą greičiu)".

For some reason I expected more from this book, the ending was a bit rushed and predictable in my opinion and I wished they played more into the romance side of this book. I can imagine how scandalous this book must’ve been back in 1872. Overall, quick and easy read even though there were a lot of words I had to google the meaning of, but that’s expected seeing how old this text is. 🦇

Pabaigusi šitą knygą, nežinau, ką su savimi daryti… noriu, jog ši istorija būtų nesibaigianti. Įdomu, kiek daug skiriasi tikra Katerinos ir Petro istorija nuo knygos…

Dažniausiai kai skaitau įdomią knygą, man norisi ją kuo greičiau perskaityti, tačiau, greičiausiai, pirmą kartą knygą skaičiau labai lėtai, kad kuo ilgiau ja galėčiau mėgautis. Nemeluosiu, ant galo nuriedėjo ašara, tie žmonių santykiai tokie komplikuoti, gali mylėti ir nekęsti žmogaus tuo pačiu metu.

Society😔. But if I’m being genuine I think it was a pretty good read that dwelled into topics such as societal norms, pressures and mental disorders. I really feel for the main character and the ending left me with a bittersweet feeling.

So far it’s creepier that the horror book I read before this :Dd I like it

I don’t know if it’s because I listened to an audio book or I was excited and therefore had big expectations but this book disappointed me… I was going in thinking it would be scary but that wasn’t the case for me. The story definitely confused me but the ending was predictable and the story dragged on for most of the book. Well at least I finished my reading goal this year…

I feel like I’m going insane but I can’t put this book down even though I have a bunch of uni work to do.
Side note- this book has an unexpected amount of sexually explicit content
