Just got through the intro and first chapter and I'm already not impressed. The author's argument that secession was legal goes against Article I Section 10, which begins directly by stating, "No state shall enter II any treaty, alliance, or confederation." I find the last word particularly of interest given our history.

Debating Guns chapter presented an interesting take on liberals vs conservatives in the US. Based on George Lakoff's book "Moral Politics: How Liberals and Conservatives Think," it provided great insight into not only the gun debate, but nearly every issue in US politics. It shows this debate is not really about guns, but rather how each side sees the role of government.

Funny the chapter I just finished here echoed the work of another book I just finished: Lawrence Krauss' "A Universe from Nothing: Why There is Something Rather than Nothing."

This last essay showed me I was on the right track in my thoughts on making in life, but helped clarify those thoughts and went the question of the existence of God is moot in this discussion.

Just finished an essay on few speech which made me realize why some who reacted to a post I'd made on Facebook not long ago reacted the way the did. Perhaps I was not clear enough, or perhaps they were strawmanning my position. The post dealt with tolerance.
