In 2011, Doug Wilson wrote "Our world already has too much verbiage in it that comes off like it was written by a committee or a computer---or maybe a committee of computers." A mere fourteen years later, that feels like saying that "water might be ever so slightly wet."

So the "Goodreads Choice Awards" nominees have been announced, and for the umpteenth year in a row, not a single nominee have I read, not a single nominee do I feel any strong desire to read, and the vast majority look (by their covers) like books I would go out of my way to avoid reading.
