I struggled with the first 5 percent and I think that was me coming with expectations, as Alison wrote one of my fave reads which seemed vastly different. However I stuck with it and now I’m flying through it and really enjoying myself. Alison writes books with such an emotional depth. I hope it stays like this as I want to love it ♥️

As someone who dislikes smut because it does nothing for me, I’m not sure what possessed me to try a dark romance? I said 2026 I would try new things reading wise, and I think I can safely say DR will not be for me, personally.

I read a post a few years ago about how women over a certain age start to become invisible. It stayed with me all these years, and I think that’s why I’m so drawn to stories with elder characters. Older women still have so many stories to tell, so much life left to live, so many adventures waiting for them. They don’t fade, they deepen. That’s why I love Kelly’s stories so much!

This book is making me laugh and feel warm. I absolutely lovely the dark sense of humour of this writer. I’ve also learnt I love books in a suburban setting giving us a glimpse behind multiple characters doors.
I am really enjoying myself
