Soooo much has happened. Back and forth with Dani and Ezra, they start dating essentially, she finds a way to get mad at him through a claim he made towards Bianca Alexander and Lorenzo told him to use in the trial. They “broke up,” he quit the firm, took his mom out of the house, Dani won the trial, Eli had a change of heart, they got back together.

Dani and Ezra have an interesting relationship. I’m anticipating the fact that they sleep together will come out to everyone, even though now they have stopped.

So far just introducing characters. Definitely seems like an enemies to lovers type book, but they’re already “lovers” if you know what I mean, while still being “enemies” in the court room. They’re both divorce lawyers in infidelity cases, Ezra on the side of the accuser and Dani on the side of the accusing.

They got him out of the hospital, and we find out he overheard some conversations she had with his friend and her friend. But, they worked it out for the time being.

A lot has happened. A battle started at Aretia with Wyvern and venin, then Theophanie backed down as an irid strengthened the wards. This irid was from Andarna’s den, and she left with him and broke off from Violet. Violet survived this, but not without being bedridden for 3 days. We also find out that Violet’s dad tried to dedicate her life to Dunne. And Brennan and Mira found out about Xaden. Ugh.

Sawyer got in his seat and flew with the group, they made it to Aretia, Brennan came back and told Violet he had been working woth Xaden on curing him and he received a letter from Xaden the day prior about him wanting to try something new to help cure him. Then, Xaden shows up in Aretia early and expressing hope in him having control and an event occurred. (you know what I mean)

There’s another shadow wielder?!?! Ugh. Literally it’s one disappointment after the other. Nothing good is happening, I’m really pissed. First it was the irids. Then Xaden’s secret getting out. Cities are being destroyed by just 12 venin. I really hope something happens soon because this sucks.

So Trager is dead. They made it to the isle Zihnal is worshiped at, but the “gifts” they were given were not helpful and resulted in Trager dying. They’re going to burry him and his griffon at an inhabited isle then continue on their quest. This resulted in their alliance but at this high cost.

They made it to the castle, and there are people who have silver tipped hair like Violet. They changed the challenge to 3v3, and Xaden Dain and Violet all fought the three warriors. Dain lost, Xaden almost did but Violet saved him with a dagger and beat her opponent. (Who happened to be queen) During the match she wielded, but I have no idea how. They won’t fight with them because they want dragons in return.

A lot has happened. They’re on a quest to Eistol, and Violet brought Garrick because the flecks in Xaden’s eyes never fully turned back to gold after his situation on the last quest. They’re about to speak to the queen regarding finding Andarna’s kind, and half of the group had to stay behind. We’ll see what happens next.

Ok in that last chapter we found out that Halden was Violet’s first love and she opened her dad’s journal. I’m glad more is happening, but im kind of getting tired of waiting for them to actually leave to go find more out about Andarna.

I’m slightly disappointed that there wasn’t a more interesting fight scene between Violet and Xaden. Maybe there will be one closer to the end of the book, which is what I’m assuming is being foreshadowed here. Also, I’m curious as to whether or not Violet was right to trust Dain in getting her father’s journal from his dad’s quarters.

It always feels good when a character does something to beat the bad guy that you weren’t expecting. I hate Jack Barlow and I’m so happy that Violet and Imogen got the “final word” in a sense by Imogen taking his memories. I also am hopeful that there will be a “cure” of some sorts.

Ugh I’m so nervous about how this is gonna play out now that Xaden is venin. He got his title of Duke of Tyrendor back, and now IM scared for what he’s going to do if Violet can’t find a cure.

He fired Tawney, I’m SO happy.

Ok I really hope that they can find this cure for Xaden. And I’m super curious as to what this other plan is that Violet is referencing but never specifies. I know it involves the Viscount but I don’t know anything else.

So much has happened. They got the wards up, found out they’re faulty, and now are in Battle with venin and wyvern at Basgisth, because their wards fell due to Jack Barlow. I’m very curious how this is all going to play out.

Aretia is feeing just like a war college now. But, so much more different than Basgiath. With the flyers joining them now, there’s some tension. I’m glad they’re being exposed to the things that were kept from them in Basgiath, but I’m curious to see how everything plays out towards the end of the book.

So they made it to the viscounts house, and cat is his niece. I also didn’t realize that flyers had abilities just as riders do. I’m curious to see the viscount’s true intentions.

A lot has happened. Varrish is dead, (I think that’s how you spell it) and Dain finally figured everything out and chose to be on Violet’s side. The secrets are out and it all started with them breaking into the vault under the Archives. I’m at part 2 right now, so I’m really curious to see how it all plays out. However, I am worried about Andarna not waking up yet.

I’m so glad that Rhiannon Ridoc and Sawyer know about the secrets Violet has been keeping. I’m really curious about what Jack Barlow is doing alive or what his plans are if any. Also, they’re going into the secret vault and more and more people are finding out about the secrets. I really hope that because more people know, it doesn’t get out.

I’m curious about Devra. Is she on Varrish’s side or have her own opinions? Because her telling Violet with a hand movement that it was Xaden who was hurt was a tell I think.

I’m glad that Tairn dealt with the issue of Violet getting punished for Andarna not being there for flight maneuvers. I’m nervous to see if something worse comes about because of it. Is that maybe why Miri is stationed with Xaden? Many questions.

It’s been While since I picked up this book, but she finally opened up to Jesinia a bit about the specific books she’s looking for. I am glad she wasn’t recording the books she was looking for, but I hope she is trustworthy.

I’m starting to get pissed. Why are all of these stupid things happening? Why is everyone dying? Why is Varrish an asshole? I’m wondering if they got put in the forest at that specific time on purpose. Like it was known that that day was when Xaden came back and they wanted to push the limits of Sgael and Tairn. Idk.

I forget his name bit the guy whose name starts with a V pisses me off. And I get Xaden wanting to protect Violet by keeping his secrets from her but he’s not even saying he’ll tell her everything eventually. Like it pisses me off because I feel like if he just said he’d say everything to her but just when it’s safe to they could be together. Ughhhh

I’m glad they made it back in to continue their training, but I’m really curious how much Violet’s mom knows about Dain’s dad and the threats he’s making to Violet and her sister.
