In the kind of niche genre of 'fictional autobiographies' this one is pretty impressive for feeling so authentic, like there's a lot of details that are specific and small enough to make me feel like it's a true autobiography, to the point that I forget it's not. Also when I realized it's the same guy that wrote the virgin suicides that made sense.

very good writing and a really interesting perspective from the author, i apparently read 50% of this before based on my library check outs but I only remember a little bit. Hoping to finish it this time!

really interesting and good writing, wish i'd read some of her fiction first for context. also got returned to the library so ill have to wait to finish it

i really appreciate the learning but i read nonfiction so much slower so it kind of holds up the rest of my books

pretty good for short stories in terms of keeping my attention, my last points still stand about writing about women though

stephen king was one of my favorite authors growing up and i still think he's really talented in writing specific ways, but as I get older his writing of women gets more and more weird to me and becomes more of a problem. anyway this is pretty good so far outside of that

Probably going to DNF, finished the first story and I think it’s not really my thing, I could see someone enjoying it if you want a really light read though
