The adaptations REALLY softened and refined Lecter's character.

There's little hints here and there that Something Isn't Right, and it's incredibly intriguing.

This is almost a faster read than I expected. It's smooth, even with all my stopping to create commentary.

Well. Hannibal's a lot rougher in this book than I was expecting. Rougher language. Not so polite.

These chapters are short as hell! I do like the intro though, where Harris explains where he got the inspiration for Hannibal.

"Angel Tower".

An angel with milky white skin, coral lips, and lavender eyes... is a choice. Couldn't help bursting out laughing at some points while reading the first chapter aloud to my friends.

I'm definitely going to be reading this as a comedy. I'm intrigued enough to continue. I don't care much about the plot, but I want to see what other nuggets of hilarity Chamberlynn's got.

Officially halfway through and LOVING IT.

I saw the show first but I love the way that adaptation used some of the dialogue, changed it for context and all. I've been showing screenshots to my friends and just honestly I'm looking forward to the rest.

There are more characters than in the play and in having a hard time following the plotlines that aren't Sweeney, Lovett, Tobias, and Fogg. It's interesting enough that I can re-listen though.

It's slower-paced than I'd like and the one-sentence paragraphs are annoying. The protagonist is also extremely judgmental, and his judgment of women's attractiveness particularly rubs me the wrong way. I won't rate it below a 3* unless something annoying happens though, but right now I'm reading it for completion's sake more than any real lingering interest.

If I hadn't seen a dozen adaptations I'd have trouble following what's going on, but I really do enjoy the writing style.
