I’m really enjoying this one! I’m learning a lot from Chuck and Suzie!

The best way to read this book: listening to the audiobook, driving to your mom’s house. Unflinching, funny, moving.

This may become one of my favorite books of all time. I started losing it from the first page, and I’ve treasured every page since. What a lovely book. I’ll meet you in my tears at H Mart.

Eek, Handmaid’s Tale meets DC

Fun, fascinating, useful!

Each time I read this, it surprises me how moving it is. (Did I just sob aloud? I suppose so.)

I’m loving this book!

When I first read this two decades ago, I got annoyed at Hugo’s excessive attention to irrelevant details.

But I just realized: like Lady Bird, Hugo pays attention to these people because he loves them. And that’s not to be sneered at.

This book is really good! It’s easy to read, but it’s intelligent—I’m learning new things! Most importantly, it’s helping me see Christ more clearly.

This book is wrecking me, sending me hyperventilating in sobs, depleting my tissue supply.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!

Gah I did not expect this story of leaving home to move me so.

Someone (an editor) distilled DKG’s leadership lessons into fortune cookie maxims. Which is cheesy, for a historian of her stature. But also kind of helpful, so I reluctantly go with it.

Find someone who writes about you the way Goodwin writes about Lincoln.

If only I could read Goodwin’s writing about Lincoln forever!

“Did this really need to be written?” I’d wondered. And then I started reading the introduction.

I’d forgotten how good DKG’s introductions are. They’re alone worth the price of the book!

How have I never heard of this book? (Well, probably because the author is a Mormon history professor.)

But this guy can WRITE! It’s the eloquent, gripping Luther biography you never knew you needed!

The foreword alone is worth the price of admission!

I'm really enjoying this book! A Christian might prefer (the more theological and less profane) Practicing Affirmation by Sam Crabtree.

But this book has a lot of practical wisdom on speaking the truth in love.

Do you complain about your church? This short, practical book might help you love your church. It did for me.
