I only picked this up because I received it in a book box. For whatever reason I assumed it would be terrible😂 BUT I AM LOVING IT… the plot, the tension, the small twist part of the way through… safe to say I had bad judgment 🤌

It should be impossible for a book this complex to be so easy and addicting to read😳 not once have I felt tired of reading and needed to sit it down… R.F. Kuang does it again👏🙂‍↕️

Im starting to get annoyed by the FMCs helplessness🥲 we did not come all this way for you to be able to do nothing

Please someone teach Rin how boats stay afloat… if I have to read her having the same thought one more time im going to lose it🤣

Her writing is like music to my ears, so satisfying🤌

It has taken the first 100 pages to really grasp all the characters and get use to the writing style.

The chapters are really long and the author switches between everyones thoughts without a break in the chapter. I haven’t read many other books like that so understanding who is saying/thinking what, takes a second.

I knew the author was Canadian before I started reading but I wasn’t expecting having such a hard time with certain Canadian references such as towns, peoples names, their police system etc.

Let me come clean and say I bought the first 18 books in this series without even reading the first one… I bought them all second hand but still 😀

Being chased by a truck full of guys at night might just be one of my greatest fears…

At the point one of the characters is already annoying me and I am getting a headache from all the bad decisions being made

Really trying not to get the ick from their screen names right now😬

Also… I almost went crazy with them not discussing their past sooner😀

I actually had to take a break from the book because I was so annoyed 😒

Hawke by Jescie Hall is one of my favorite dark romances. The roommate trope is 🤌 I was expecting something lighter and similar style to Hawke… but this book is way more unhinged 😀👏

Im 3/4 of the way through and still have no idea how this book will end😀 I have seen a lot of reviews mentioning how emotional and sad this trilogy becomes so I’m just waiting for the shoe to drop🫥

This might be the most complex fiction book I have ever read😀 it took a while to get into it but im addicted now

I didn’t enjoy Butcher & Blackbird as much as I was expecting to, so a few of you recommended listening to the audiobooks instead… AND I AM LOVING IT!!!

This book seriously started out with the FMC blowing someone up with fireworks…🧨

Military romance? Yes please 🙂‍↕️

There is three different story lines going on at this point lol

Quite a few new characters and povs that have become important for the third and second to last book in a series

Its a fun time dont get me wrong but where is my yearning🥲

Have I predicted all of this… yes🤷🏼‍♀️ but I’m still really enjoying it😂

For the love of reading… please be a five star read😭 I need a good book so bad.

Isn’t this supposed to be a thriller?

This is definitely a different take on horror. It’s not scary or creepy… but the FMCs thoughts are unsettling. I like the POV of the deceased wife watching them.

Its getting spooky and I love it🤭

I cant help but compare this to Nocticadia, I am really enjoying it but so far the quality of writing doesn’t compare, the story is good though

He did WHATT with the bone 🦴🫣

Really curious to see where the last book in this series goes🫣

One thing about Jeneane… she knows how to write a love triangle🥵

Also starting off chapter one with the one bed trope😵😵 delicious 🍽️

Dare I say I like this book even better than the first?! FINALLY A LOVE TRIANGLE DONE RIGHT🥹

Safe to say the gore and drama starts from page one😀
