Too many metaphors. Simply too many. Is he trying to sound intelligent? It takes away from the writing. I guess including too many metaphors violates the rule of show don't tell.

Why does this book not make me feel anything? This is about Auschwitz and nope, nada nothing on the emotions. I have been trying to think ever since I started and I have got it now. It is not a story. It is written like a social science book. It has the facts, the sequence and everything but no emotions.

I had to close the book and put it down. It was so heavy.
