Honestly I feel sick. This is the most horrifying thing I could imagine. When I was little I had nightmares of this feeling. It’s like all the horror of a black hole and getting squished in an elevator and every claustrophobic nightmare all in 1. Fuck

Even 300+ years in the future, insurance companies are still denying people claims. A guy got “sucked into” a black hole and his life insurance wouldn’t pay out because they “couldn’t prove he was dead. And if anything, he’s really falling into the black hole INFINITELY so he’ll never be done falling.”

I’m so obsessed with this book, genuinely I think I read it for an hour yesterday at a cafe because I just am so hooked. In all these pages is equally imaginative work building of the different eras of speculative human civilization. They’re super fascinating every time. Like I am so chillin just going on this journey through the eras, but also we may be cooked lowkey… whose to say for now

Oh my god this is absolutely devastating. The beginning of the book was honestly so chill like we were in this uneasy peace but it was like a renaissance. And now… bro like it’s SO over. So incredibly over. Depressing as hell. Holy shitttttt
