I’m scared for all the decent people in this book. It’s already so heartbreaking

When will this cattle drive get stolen I wonder. So much in fighting and vigilantism it’s unfounded but… contextual? While it’s critical in plot, the characters are pawns in such exchanges. What’s with these pig metaphors

It's picking up, people are dying, the ideological dilemmas are arising between the frontierers. These pigs seem to be the shadows of enterprise. It's still 600+ pages left.

Finished the first novelette, Cock, then left the book it in someone's car. I don't think I agree entirely with how Will Self chooses to go about writing some of these characters (racism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia) however I do see the harsh critique and deprecation/mockery of monogamy and gender constructs. #finishingwhenthebookreturns

Part one done, I love this book more than money itself, very keen on reading the rest
