Maybe because I haven’t read in sometime, the book in the beginning, felt rather slow. After the first chapter, I really started getting into the groove of things. So far really excited to see where the story unfolds!

The intro had an interesting peek and grab to it, however it gives the impression of the generic same "Mary Sue" vibe; however I'll still give it a chance before judging a book by a single chapter.

Okay; I took a little bit of a break from reading, not because the book overall was boring but... I felt it wasn't going anywhere? Felt stuck for a few long pages in the beginning but after trucking through where I feel I've made it past the slower parts - I can officially say that I am absolutely THRIVING on Sarene's overall character right now!

While this is still the beginning of the book - I'm really surprised how quick the story is beginning to feel; especially for a Brandon Sanderson novel.
I've been having some difficulties trying to read some of Sandersons novels. Tried with 'The Way of Kings' my first round and truthfully felt that it was ... slow? For this, I'm really enjoying how quick the novel is picking up.
