this was fun at first but now the characters are just too repetitive and basic and i’m bored and yet there’s so much left in the book i think i’ll dnf

this book is quite lovely so far absolutely no hate to it i will be returning but my brain is fried rn work sucks so i need to take a break from real books and ready some shitty romance novel rn so putting this on pause 🫶

had a dream i finished this book last night. woke up and had not in fact finished the book, but maybe i will tonight

read over 100 pages in my first sitting i love gay people!!

rf kuang writes in a way that is so easy to slip into the world and everything but good god do i want to slap some sense into the main character in all of her books

i wonder how my life would be different if i ever played a guy in high school

whole house gay!

the GASP i let out…

i’m so sorry to my book club but i think this is going to be the first book i dnf… it’s really cool concept and pretty but realistically too depressing for me rn the doom and gloom feels a little too real a little too close especially all the california natural disasters specifics…

so feminist i assumed the scientist speaker was a woman until i double checked when they mentioned a wife

there’s parts of this i really like and find intriguing and some that are starting to rub me the wrong way so let’s see how this ends up

only read the introduction so far and i’m obsessed it’s so my fav way to think about media i love reading books by smart authors!

i HATE rich people especially white men and the cops and justice system and women not being believed it’s such a hard read i am so engrossed duhh it’s good but god it’s frustrating !!

if this wasn’t a book club book i’d dnf ngl but i push through

hey guys i’m only halfway through and they’re celebrating guys im scared

i miss science class

unless things get crazy this is going to be a five star read for me… obsessed with the world and the narration and the portrayals of sex work and money and women’s bodies!!! thiiiis is how you do it! take notes sam levinson (he would never gaf enough about women to take notes anyways)

all the young dudes jump scare

this is becoming a hard read. absolutely beautiful but wow brutal

i take it back alice i’m sorry

r.f. kuang vs morally questionable main characters

this book is sooooo shitty i love it

she’s crazy!! dying to know what else can happen in the many upcoming chapters

listening on audio! been into audiobooks lately for my commute and at work lol so imagine my surprise when this begins in georgetown as i stand in georgetown…

absolutely eating this up no pun intended

lesbian sex already let’s gooooo this is awesome so far love the writing style

just realized a part of the social commentary (other than the mental health you can change and live a good peaceful life bits which are very very apparent) is lowkey abt immigration rick i love u

waitttttt it’s getting rly good again i’m so locked in

this series just gets too brutal/gruesome by a point but i simply have to finish
