I am loving this “lets start a band and change the world”-energy from 2 teenagers using stolen comparative lit.. there’s obviously a lot more historical underpinnings in this story but it’s powerful how much they love this craft.

Advice to readers: Just get through the first chapter on running as fast as you can. This book thrives in her memories and subtle messaging not straight up- “self help” podcast soliloquies.

“Old money and lies” never interested me that much because I get far too annoyed by the auxiliary characters (in this case three aunts) who are meant to heighten the reactions of their patriarchs and their daughters.

I also don’t like not telling someone about a medic crime that happened to them?! This genre might not be 4 me.

It’s cute, I would like if this book remained whimsical

I need to lock in more plot-wise when I read magical realism

It’s giving i should have read this in gov class in high school in a teenagers would care way! (And adults and apparently Reese Witherspoon)

Fastest and most miraculous world build ever. I also f w albatross. (I have redesigned the cover of this book in my head tho- I hate to admit it deterred me before.)
