Very interesting so far, I enjoy the relationship between Clytemnestra and Helen, and how Casati writes them.
I’m surprised I hadn’t really thought about the bond between these sisters too much before this book.

I do appreciate that Homer made sure I know everyone’s family tree though very nice.

Also when Helen tells Aphrodite to gtfo and care for Paris herself if she likes him so much. Did not end well for Helen but good try. I love her actually, though I could do without all the self loathing that is so clearly coming from the man writing this. Helen you’re perfect you’ve done nothing wrong.

Rose Bolton and Cruella are pretty much the same character

I love that Gendry found out Arya was a high born lady and immediately started freaking out about his manners meanwhile Arya is literally eating worms.

“They close their eyes to the onion” Is objectively hilarious sorry to Davos I understand he’s having a moment about his lot in life and what not but this is comedy

Tyrion’s my favourite perspective i think atm, and then Arya. Other characters are also great, but I’m consistently invested with these guys. Tyrion navigating politics in Kings Landing is so interesting and Arya just has a cool plot line.

For the first time in a while, I’m reading a mult-pov book where I don’t dread to read one of the characters perspectives. I might get a little disappointed after reading a really good chapter with one character and having to move onto a different storyline for a bit- but then I get even more invested with that character and !! It’s just a good story. Not without faults, but good.

The last page of the story is 804.

There are 65 pages left to resolve this whole thing and the nameless one hasn’t even risen yet.

I do not know how a story this large can wrap everything up nicely in 65 pages but we’ll see what happens.

As of now I’m probably the most invested I’ve ever been, but I can’t stop thinking about how it will end and if it will be satisfying.

Probably the most invested I’ve been in Niclay’s story though, likely because he is talking very little

I’m pretty invested in it at this point. I complain I think too much about the book. I don’t think it’s perfect, or the next LOTR, but I can’t deny I like the world and the characters the author has written.
Except for Niclay’s.
He IS interesting don’t get me wrong- but god he is let down by his storyline. I want to care but I just don’t. And it’s not bc of his ‘bad deeds’- he’s just boring

Sabran and Eadaz are amazing and I love them, I bore reading of everyone else.
Niclay’s- I dread to read.
Tané is still my second favourite storyline, but there’s definitely points where I’m like “maybe you are too much of a cool badass warrior lady. Also her dragon is in Niclay’s storyline now which means her story has become immediately less interesting.
Loth- boring but him learning about Ead was cool

I’m pretty invested in Ead and Sabran’s story, Tané is interesting mostly, Arteloth fluctuates between having a decent storyline and a dreadfully boring one, and I could not really care less about Niclay’s- which is weird because his character is definitely at least interesting but I still dread to read his chapters.
