It’s been 2 weeks since clove received a letter from her mother in a correctional facility. She anticipates something will be arriving soon, since she had not responded. To her surprise she receives 2 letter

Clove is considering hiring a nanny, she needs stillness to think , to write to save her secrets and her life. She feels threatened by her mother’s letter & is consumed thinking how she will respond.
