I truly am enjoying this book but at the same time holy fuck it is so boring sometimes. Tolkien is definitely guilty of over explaining every detail to the point where there are several pages where it feels like he is just rambling. However, I am also very intrigued by the story and do respect the amount of work that Tolkien put into the world building.

I really wish George Orwell was normal about women, but besides that glaring issue i’m very much enjoying this so far

Holyyyyy shit the writing in this book is so captivating. The inciting incident was perfectly set up and jaw dropping to say the absolute least. I can’t wait to see what comes next from this book and i’m so grateful it was recommended to me

this writing is so refreshing after reading paper towns. i’m still really early into the story but so far i’m very invested and can’t wait to see what happens next. i WILL dnf without hesitation if the cat dies though do not play with me

I’m lowkey eating this up. the main character feels extremely relatable in a way that i can connect with so deeply. i do think that this book has so much potential to be one of my favorites, but obviously im not very far in this book yet so we’ll see how it unfolds. i would read more but i took one too many shots of whiskey so im gonna play some fort until i can process words again lmao update coming soon
