I'm really enjoying Jamie's casual, personal tone alongside the excellent research she's done into the topic of hot dogs! However, I am still traumatized by the slaughterhouse discussion 🤢

This is a nightmarish fever dream as promised, but the synopsis did not prepare me for how horny it is. Which is appropriately Gothic, I suppose.

I'm really enjoying the fact that, while a lot of tension is created by Isobel's uncertainty of what is/is not real, that isn't the driving force of the plot.

If the book is this scary and this insane in the first few chapters, I am equal parts excited and terrified to see where we're going.
