I feel I would like the story better if the philosophical point wasn't constantly in the way and I would appreciate the philosophical point more if Coelho didn't beat me over the head with it. Also my need to turn any discussion into a feminist one is triggered by the women characters whose only personality trait is that they exist for the men in their lives. And if I hear the words 'personal legend' one more time...
