My god, why is the mc so annoying... I could take this more seriously if she wasn't reacting to the slightest things with the strangest of reactions. I genuinely feel like this is reaching Shatter Me levels of dramatic...

The dad is pissing me off so much, it makes my blood boil

It's a very interesting story but I can painfully see that it lacks a lot of the details I usually love in fantasy 💔 still a very entertaining read, but so much is still so confusing...

I like the ambiance and the setting is really my type of thing, but the characters are a bit... meh? But we're still in the beginning so I'm giving them more time

The story is pretty nice actually I like it! And I like how the murder took a long time to set because we understand the dynamics of the characters a bit better. I'm betting on Daniel or Louise being the murderers lol, they seem wayyy too suspicious.

It's honestly pretty good so far, even though I can already see some things that could be changed but I'm enjoying it and that's what matters

Honestly really cute for now, I have been loving the story and the chemistry between the characters 🫶

This book reminds me of The Apothecary Diaries and I couldn't be happier about it.

I'M SO OVERWHELMED BY SO MANY EMOTIONS

My gosh, is this book hard to read.
I really like the character building we had on this start though, but... nothing is happening.
Then again, I'm only at the first 28% of the book.
They're still setting up everything, the characters, the locations, everyone's roles etc.
The book has a subtle dark vibe to it... I like it. But I feel like it'll take me years to finish it.

I'm trying to get past the awkward writing and focus more on the romance, because obviously I was aware of this being a romance and not much of a dystopia.
For now, I'm not that invested in it but I can't say that I hate it.
It's not a bad book, for now.
I really dislike the crossed lines though— it reminded me of those old wattpad fanfics with cringe dialogues.

Despite how unbelievable the whole story sounds, I like it.
I don't think it's to be taken that seriously.
But really, the Hawthorne family is going to make me kill someone... it's like they're making an experiment on how annoying people can be.
Then again, if billions were inherited by a stranger... I'd feel like something is suspicious about it too.

One thing I will never understand is why the higher-ups handed the commandment of their dragons (which seems to be their main weapon) to literal children! It doesn't seem like there is a shortage of adults to lead.
Also Griff and Julia's relationship may seem romantic but I really think it isn't. It's too ambiguous.
I sense something between Delo and Griff... Why is he protecting him so much when he's dragonborn?

I thought the book was more fantasy than supernatural but it seems it isn't... I'm a bit disappointed.

I am going to make this book my personality for the next few weeks. Or months. Or years.

I think I'm really going to like this book...

UGH, I feel so conflicted about this.
It has so much potential and I love the plot but the pacing is just terrible and so many things I love about fantasy (like the magic system, world building, insolite creatures etc.) Is really not the strong point of this book.
I might finish this... but I don't think I'll really the rest.
