I really thought this would finally be a poetry collection I loved... Then I got to part three. Ugh. Hopler is not helping poetry beat the head-up-its-own-ass allegations.

Slowly but surely

I know people live this book, but 30% in and it is not super promising. The book seems lopsided towards certain characters, the writing style even between the same characters in different chapters is all over the place, so I don't really have a strong sense of them as people for what is supposed to be a character driven book. I'll keep going but I'm pretty lukewarm on this.

I am not sure if the prose is doing anything for me in this book
