I am loving this book sooo much so far. The world building is amazing and the characters are chefs kiss. she had just left Lewei and my heart is a little broken bc he was sweet, kind and a mf artist but i know that there is a triangle forming in my future Lol and hopefully it’s a good one 😭

Umm so one thing to note is that I see so many issues with this books setting. The author says it’s supposed to take place in 1981 but nothing adds up. they have a playstation… an ipod, she can text on her phone? like what?

God this book is all over the place with flashbacks and memories. it’s hurting me mentally and i can’t wait to finally understand. BUT Lord how i hate that they named her Ella!! I wish they still called her Juliette!!!! The connection between Aaron and her doesn’t feel as strong when he calls her Ella. I really hate that name.

sometimes this book has a lot of good chapters. I really liked the one where she spoke about her time in therapy and the difficulties she had attending and the outcomes she had gotten from it, or heartbreak hotel about Farley and Scott possibly breaking up. But then she writes these outrageously weird and pointless chapter that actually enrage me like emily’s weird ass bachelorette party and the recipes. Like Ughh!

So as i continued on, i found myself understanding why people might love this book. it does have a lot of relatable moments which i enjoyed. it also wasn’t me to definitely write a memoir about myself! i will someday. but the point in the book that broke me the most was the chapter about Florence. it reminded me of my friend who i also lost from lukemia at 14. i cried my whole car ride home from work.

chapter 5 of the audio book. I don’t know how i feel about it. I know i am not used to audio books really, but i also don’t think i would be able to read this regularly due to the fact that im kinda confused? i feel like the story is a little all over? i hope it becomes more understandable and relatable in the future.

So I finished the first chapter and it was really interesting. I was struggling with the first half, trying to absorb the words when my brain was not listening and focusing on other things. But at the end it kinda grasped me and gave me things to relate to. So I am excited to read the next chapter

So I am very excited and nervous to read this book. A friend of mine from work gave it to me as a gift which I absolutely loved, it is so sweet and I always wanted a book friend where we exchanged books that we loved. THE PROBLEM, is that this isn’t normally the type of book that I read and i’m nervous I am going to get bored when I really wanna finish it. I have been wanting to branch out. So we will see!!

so far so good. it’s a little boring at times and i feel like certain parts are going on for too long… but the detail and story is what’s keeping me going. also not a fan of her having a voice in her still. i would like her to have more human contact.
